Let me start this off by saying if you're online prop degan, this review is probably not for you. But if your are trader who cares about who you partner with, this is your warning. Yes, Lucid is a decent prop on the surface. The rules are very reasonable and on par with industry standards. It's not hard to get paid out according to most of the traders in the discord I hold rank in ( i started not too long ago and haven't reached the payout threshold). SPEED is what they excel in. It's only 2 days to pass your eval. Once you do pass, its a few clicks of your button and your funded. I don't personally like the 5 days of $200 and then you can pull because it feels like another hidden consistency test dressed up as enticement for deegan traders. Pay attention to how props pay after you pass. They speak about looking for traders to partner with, but the FACTS of that statement are often hidden behind how they choose to pay you and how fast they're willing to do it.
Customer service should be the hallmark of any prop firm, why? Because you cannot contact most of the online props by phone and most of them have addresses in Delaware.... Only a elite few Props have addresses beyond Delaware and allow customers direct contact access. So effective communication becomes your trust blanket because you will only have email and/or a customer AI chat bot and the mods who check them.
I had an issue that involved me getting flagged for the hedging rule. Quite simply put it was an honest mistake. I'm an order flow trader and I was using the price ladder in 1 account and I believe that I may have left on order on the ladder that triggered while I was in my other account. Now you get this generic email sent to you and a generic set of reprimands that involve your accounts being scrutinized moving forward, not to mention you lose your automatic funding privileges. So I'm thinking, ok I'm a new customer, let me reach out to them directly and explain what I believed happened. I'm thinking I can show them my trading and how I trade and we can move on. Instead I was met a rep who very rudely assumed I was lying, treating me as if I was probably 1 of the thousands deegan traders that use Lucid and not seasoned a trader. I tried to explain what happened, he simply responded with trading logs, as if he somehow was proving me wrong. What I really never understood in all of this is, even if I was 'trying to hedge', how can I be hedging a funded account with an evaluation account? What kind of math is that? I guess after trading at other props for 6 years now, I don't fully understand how a trade in your funded account has any effect on your evaluation..but ok Any way we went back and forth a few times and finally in frustration, I reached out their discord community to find help. Guess who was there? The same guy who was giving me hard time in the email. Only this time, he clowned me in front of the entire discord, like my issue was joke or I was some clown faced trader. The guy ends spamming my email even more with up to 18 emails of just foolish behavior, very unbecoming of any prop firm.
All I thought about was, wow this is what the Lucid ecosystem is? I mean forget the money, if I have a legit issue whether it be with platform, software, questions, etc, this is what is happens? If I have an issue with payouts, is this the behavior that comes with a disagreement? It was a Dave Chappell skit. That's how full of jokes this entire situation was. Except, when I pay for something, its no joke. I at least expect customer service and respect. You should too.
This happened on a Friday. Now Monday it seemed like someone did follow up and I told them everything: what happened, how I was treated and how I didn't appreciate it. I didn't want anything except a rapport with a perhaps a higher set of staff within Lucid, comfort that at least we can clear any confusion and an acknowledgement that this semi customer service agent/discord mod was rude and does not represent what Lucid is about. Didn't happen. Not even an acknowledgement of the disrespect.
This was something that was very simple that turned into an example of why you want to make sure that you have a cool relationship with the people your popping with. It's not all about the payouts. I get it, payouts are important. But what about legit issues that need junior or senior prop level assistance. Even if this is a backyard operation, you would at least think that they would care enough to want a respectable resolution. Instead in the 18th email, the mod actually sent me a Trustpilot link, like this review is even supposed to be a joke. He may be the one who responds to this review trying to throw even further shade.
For me, it's not personal though. I still have both accounts active, the live and the funded and haven't taken a trade since. Would you take another trade with Lucid, had that happened to you?
