I had high hopes for FFF
I left a very favorable review previously and, regrettably, I am now forced to write a negative one. BEWARE OF RECENT RULES UPDATES pertaining to SIM funded profits and LIVE account transitions. In my four S2F accounts, I was (on average) just ~$220 away from achieving my second payout. With two trading days to go, my accounts were frozen with an aggregate $24K PROFIT since I was “offered a path to LIVE.” Traders can no longer expect to advance through the various S2F phases (1-3+ as advertised), despite the overall $100K in SIM profits cap, given a new payout trigger.
It’s also worth noting SIM profits are NOT moved into a LIVE account like some other prop firms. Essentially these are held hostage during the cooldown period described below. I could have lived with this had I been able to receive my Phase 2 payout. This makes me question: was the LIVE transition offer in part to avoid a second payout of ~$10K? Overall, I declined the LIVE transition since (i) I’m a relatively new trader and (ii) I personally believe I need more practice before paying for LIVE data and potentially blowing a LIVE account. To top it all off, declining the LIVE transition forces one into a lengthy 60-day cooldown period (Note: trading days, i.e., months) before any SIM funded accounts are unfrozen.
Just a friendly reminder to all traders to review FFF’s FAQs on a periodic basis. FFF – and other prop firms – amend these in small ways such as changing the $100,000 S2F profit schedule from 1) $6,000, 2) $3,000, 3) $3,000, and 4) $2,500 to 1) $6,000, 2) $3,000, 3) $3,000, and 4) $3,000. Changes like these may seem minor, but they are not very customer/trader friendly. Amended rules – as well as thousands of dollars in frozen profit that a trader anticipates being able to access given FFF’s overall $100K cap – do not feel great after days of trading in a violent market. Perhaps this is driven by a liquidity issue or something else like corporate greed.
Regardless, I initially had very high hopes for FFF given their risk mitigation tools, dashboard, and customer service (Note: the second star in this review is for Ash – she’s a fantastic support agent!). Now I’m questioning if this prop firm is worth having a long-term relationship with and I find it hard to recommend this prop firm going forward given their policy changes, slow communication with the Risk department/LIVE team, and cooldown period which is pretty draconian. Who knows what the rules will be in a few months upon the cessation of my cooldown period. I believe all traders revert to Phase 1 after the cooldown, even though I was close to passing Phase 2, which would require $6K profit in all four accounts for payout eligibility. I guess I’ll have an aggregate $48K in SIM profits at that point making this process feel like a doom loop… Will happily update this review after my SIM accounts are unfrozen and I'm able to tap into SIM profits like other prop firms.
