Trading Rules

News trading is permitted as part of a normal strategy. Chasing news spikes or placing orders on both sides of the market around a release is not allowed.

All positions must be closed before 4:59 PM ET every trading day. Overnight and weekend holding is not permitted. Trading reopens at 6:00 PM ET.

Hedging is not permitted: no simultaneous long and short positions on the same or correlated instruments, including across accounts.

Copying trades from other traders is not permitted.

Automated trading, algorithms and HFT are not permitted. Manual trading only.

Every trade needs risk management; using the drawdown threshold as a stop loss is not allowed.

Type: EOD Trailing. The threshold is calculated once a day from the closing balance (4:59 PM ET) and enforced in real time during the next session.

On Rithmic and WealthCharts the drawdown stops trailing once it reaches the balance with the profit target (e.g. $53,000 for 50K); on Tradovate it keeps trailing.

Hitting the limit closes your positions and pauses trading until the next session. The evaluation is not failed.

Maximum Contracts

$25K Account: 4 minis / 40 micros

$50K Account: 6 minis / 60 micros

$100K Account: 8 minis / 80 micros

$150K Account: 12 minis / 120 micros

Fixed for the whole evaluation, no scaling. 10 micros = 1 mini; orders above the limit are rejected without a breach.

Additional Rules

Consistency Rule: None.

Minimum Trading Days: None, you can pass in 1 day.

Time Limit: 30 calendar days from purchase, no extensions.

Fees: one-time payment, no subscription. No resets — after a failed evaluation you buy a new one.

Funded account activation fee, due within 7 days of passing: one-time, the current amount is shown next to the account in the table (Apex changes it during promotions); "No Activation Fee" accounts pay nothing.

Apex Trader Funding delivered a smooth and professional experience from start to finish. The payout process was transparent, and once approved, communication was clear and timely. I especially appreciate that they actually follow through on payments—having the “payment sent” confirmation and realistic expectations around ACH timing builds trust. What they do well is the structure: the rules are clearly defined, the dashboard makes it easy to track eligibility, and the payout tiers reward consistency rather than luck. That creates a more disciplined trading environment, which I value. The ability to continue trading after submitting a payout request is also a strong feature—it keeps momentum going without unnecessary downtime. Constructively, the only area that could be improved is clarity around payout timelines and processing stages (e.g., distinguishing between “approved,” “sent,” and “settled”). A more granular status tracker would reduce uncertainty, especially for traders relying on those funds. Overall, Apex stands out by combining clear rules, consistent execution, and reliable payouts. That’s ultimately what matters most.
