A futures-focused prop firm. Since 1 March 2026 Apex has run on a new product line: end-of-day drawdown, built-in scaling, a 50% consistency requirement and no payout denials. Accounts are a one-time payment with a lifetime activation fee paid only after passing, and traders may hold several at once. Platforms include NinjaTrader, Tradovate, Rithmic and WealthCharts. Accounts bought before March 2026 run under the legacy rules.

Trading Rules

News trading is permitted as part of a normal strategy. Chasing news spikes or placing orders on both sides of the market around a release is not allowed.

All positions must be closed before 4:59 PM ET every trading day. Overnight and weekend holding is not permitted. Trading reopens at 6:00 PM ET.

Hedging is not permitted: no simultaneous long and short positions on the same or correlated instruments, including across accounts.

Copying trades from other traders is not permitted.

Automated trading, algorithms and HFT are not permitted. Manual trading only.

Every trade needs risk management; using the drawdown threshold as a stop loss is not allowed.

Type: EOD Trailing. The threshold is calculated once a day from the closing balance (4:59 PM ET) and enforced in real time during the next session.

On Rithmic and WealthCharts the drawdown stops trailing once it reaches the balance with the profit target (e.g. $53,000 for 50K); on Tradovate it keeps trailing.

$150K Account: $2,000

Hitting the limit closes your positions and pauses trading until the next session. The evaluation is not failed.

Maximum Contracts

$25K Account: 4 minis / 40 micros

$50K Account: 6 minis / 60 micros

$100K Account: 8 minis / 80 micros

$150K Account: 12 minis / 120 micros

Fixed for the whole evaluation, no scaling. 10 micros = 1 mini; orders above the limit are rejected without a breach.

Additional Rules

Consistency Rule: None.

Minimum Trading Days: None, you can pass in 1 day.

Time Limit: 30 calendar days from purchase, no extensions.

Fees: one-time payment, no subscription. No resets — after a failed evaluation you buy a new one.

Funded account activation fee, due within 7 days of passing: one-time, the current amount is shown next to the account in the table (Apex changes it during promotions); "No Activation Fee" accounts pay nothing.

Support Review

Have no experience yet with real money, but their support has been good -measurably better since the company was bought out. I get responses often within 10 minutes. I have read / heard about them being nit-picky to get out of paying people, but also heard / know of people who have been paid no problem, so I can only hope that is not an issue down the road.

The rules take some getting used to and some are more challenging than others. I wish the payout approval was quicker. When there is an issue they do handle it in a timely manner.

in the 7 months trading apex

in the 7 months trading apex, I have to say it hasn’t been that bad at all. I got a 5 figure payout from them and the only reason I breached my account was my own fault. they denied a payout for a valid reason stated in their rules, but I followed all the rules and almost got a payout and blew my account. Only annoying part about this firm is their review and making you basically do homework for them when trading is hard enough already. I can see how they are finding ways to deny payouts and it’s scary. But for now, if you have a clear trading plan and follow their rules, you will get paid.

The first couple of times I used Apex…

The first couple of times I used Apex their customer service sucked. That was a year and a half ago. Vastly improved since then. Still no phone number to talk to a human but email responses are very timely now.
