Trading Rules

News trading is permitted as part of a normal strategy. Chasing news spikes or placing orders on both sides of the market around a release is not allowed.

All positions must be closed before 4:59 PM ET every trading day. Overnight and weekend holding is not permitted. Trading reopens at 6:00 PM ET.

Hedging is not permitted: no simultaneous long and short positions on the same or correlated instruments, including across accounts.

Copying trades from other traders is not permitted.

Automated trading, algorithms and HFT are not permitted. Manual trading only.

Every trade needs risk management; using the drawdown threshold as a stop loss is not allowed.

Type: EOD Trailing. The threshold is calculated once a day from the closing balance (4:59 PM ET) and enforced in real time during the next session.

On Rithmic and WealthCharts the drawdown stops trailing once it reaches the balance with the profit target (e.g. $53,000 for 50K); on Tradovate it keeps trailing.

Hitting the limit closes your positions and pauses trading until the next session. The evaluation is not failed.

Maximum Contracts

$25K Account: 4 minis / 40 micros

$50K Account: 6 minis / 60 micros

$100K Account: 8 minis / 80 micros

$150K Account: 12 minis / 120 micros

Fixed for the whole evaluation, no scaling. 10 micros = 1 mini; orders above the limit are rejected without a breach.

Additional Rules

Consistency Rule: None.

Minimum Trading Days: None, you can pass in 1 day.

Time Limit: 30 calendar days from purchase, no extensions.

Fees: one-time payment, no subscription. No resets — after a failed evaluation you buy a new one.

Funded account activation fee, due within 7 days of passing: one-time, the current amount is shown next to the account in the table (Apex changes it during promotions); "No Activation Fee" accounts pay nothing.

Pretty good

My experience with Apex was pretty good. Their rules are not the easiest to pass challenges especially with the trailing drawdown. But the scalability of having 20 accounts and the big discounts they have, you have great potential. My payout did take a while to be approved but once approved, the process was seamless.

They do payout and you need to follow…

They do payout and you need to follow rules. However, recently I think they have financial trouble or so coz they approve/deny till last day so you can request only 1 a month if you wait or you have a chance of blowing up the account so they dont have to pay. There are many prop firms now so ATF is not the only choice like before so if ATF wants more or keep customer, they need to change something soon.

Very Very Very slow payout

I have been with Apex for over a year and really liked everything with them and it was great to someone who's trading for a few years to enter into futures and explore and get to know my strengths and weakness. Even thought the rules are hard and was difficult to me , I finally found a way trade as per the rules. I have given 3 stars only because of the very very very slow payout. I have submitted my payment request on August 1st and it got approved on 12th and status changed to paid on Aug 21st but yet to receive the payment. I'm in US , the normal time for payment shouldn't take 1-2 days. I hope Apex will improve on this but overall a good experience for me
