Trading Rules

News trading is permitted as part of a normal strategy. Chasing news spikes or placing orders on both sides of the market around a release is not allowed.

All positions must be closed before 4:59 PM ET every trading day. Overnight and weekend holding is not permitted. Trading reopens at 6:00 PM ET.

Hedging is not permitted: no simultaneous long and short positions on the same or correlated instruments, including across accounts.

Copying trades from other traders is not permitted.

Automated trading, algorithms and HFT are not permitted. Manual trading only.

Every trade needs risk management; using the drawdown threshold as a stop loss is not allowed.

Type: EOD Trailing. The threshold is calculated once a day from the closing balance (4:59 PM ET) and enforced in real time during the next session.

On Rithmic and WealthCharts the drawdown stops trailing once it reaches the balance with the profit target (e.g. $53,000 for 50K); on Tradovate it keeps trailing.

Daily Loss Limit

$100K Account: $1,500

$150K Account: $2,000

Hitting the limit closes your positions and pauses trading until the next session. The evaluation is not failed.

Maximum Contracts

$25K Account: 4 minis / 40 micros

$50K Account: 6 minis / 60 micros

$100K Account: 8 minis / 80 micros

$150K Account: 12 minis / 120 micros

Fixed for the whole evaluation, no scaling. 10 micros = 1 mini; orders above the limit are rejected without a breach.

Additional Rules

Consistency Rule: None.

Minimum Trading Days: None, you can pass in 1 day.

Time Limit: 30 calendar days from purchase, no extensions.

Fees: one-time payment, no subscription. No resets — after a failed evaluation you buy a new one.

Funded account activation fee, due within 7 days of passing: one-time, the current amount is shown next to the account in the table (Apex changes it during promotions); "No Activation Fee" accounts pay nothing.

Excellent propfirm for any trader…

Excellent propfirm for any trader regardless of experience. When sales are it is the best choice for new traders. Their rules help traders develop into responsible traders. No complaints. Would love if payout review and payment was faster, but I respect their due diligence. No issue with payout Support has also been a positive experience

Follow the rules and you'll kill it with Apex

My initial impression of Apex (based on comments from a few people who had been denied payouts) is that they're just out to get your money, that they deny payouts for silly reasons, that they're impossible to deal with, etc. etc. etc. My experience so far, however, has been fantastic. Always responsive and transparent with what the rules are. Always courteous and helpful in their responses to real queries, with a turnaround time of a few hours. Based on the Trust Pilot score and my experience, it seems to me that a lot of the noise comes from a minority of people trying to game the system and take them for as much money as they can in the process (which is not how real traders should behave anyway). Just follow the rules and be a TRADER (and not a gamer), and you'll do well. Trading is about discipline and following rules anyway, so I just don't understand the hate. Thanks Apex.
