Trading Rules

News trading is permitted as part of a normal strategy. Chasing news spikes or placing orders on both sides of the market around a release is not allowed.

All positions must be closed before 4:59 PM ET every trading day. Overnight and weekend holding is not permitted. Trading reopens at 6:00 PM ET.

Hedging is not permitted: no simultaneous long and short positions on the same or correlated instruments, including across accounts.

Copying trades from other traders is not permitted.

Automated trading, algorithms and HFT are not permitted. Manual trading only.

Every trade needs risk management; using the drawdown threshold as a stop loss is not allowed.

Type: EOD Trailing. The threshold is calculated once a day from the closing balance (4:59 PM ET) and enforced in real time during the next session.

On Rithmic and WealthCharts the drawdown stops trailing once it reaches the balance with the profit target (e.g. $53,000 for 50K); on Tradovate it keeps trailing.

$150K Account: $2,000

Hitting the limit closes your positions and pauses trading until the next session. The evaluation is not failed.

Maximum Contracts

$25K Account: 4 minis / 40 micros

$50K Account: 6 minis / 60 micros

$100K Account: 8 minis / 80 micros

$150K Account: 12 minis / 120 micros

Fixed for the whole evaluation, no scaling. 10 micros = 1 mini; orders above the limit are rejected without a breach.

Additional Rules

Consistency Rule: None.

Minimum Trading Days: None, you can pass in 1 day.

Time Limit: 30 calendar days from purchase, no extensions.

Fees: one-time payment, no subscription. No resets — after a failed evaluation you buy a new one.

Funded account activation fee, due within 7 days of passing: one-time, the current amount is shown next to the account in the table (Apex changes it during promotions); "No Activation Fee" accounts pay nothing.

Apex saved a lot of money when they…

Apex saved a lot of money (millions) when they denied so many traders calling them scammers/gamblers. Trading is gambling. Ever since they started asking a lot of people for video recordings. They dictate how you trade making it so much more difficult and stressful. Then after you submit for payout they make you wait an extra 2 weeks to approve/deny. Making the window of potentially blowing up account even higher and saving them more money. Not worth the money and the sale price. Go FTT! Really dig in and do your research. FTT has no eval that’s why it seems pricier but it works out way better for traders because they pay and don’t control your trading!

Avoid like the plague

They aren't a very good firm. They reject traders payouts with silly rules and make them record their trades to justify getting paid the money they have earned. I raised genuine concerns with the CEO Darrell Martin on facebook about their trailing drawdown and he blocked me. I would avoid.
