I want to share my extremely disappointing experience with Apex Trader Funding, which I believe is nothing short of a scam. I hope this review will help other traders avoid falling into the same trap.
Back in June, I decided to invest heavily in Apex and paid for 20 PA Fund accounts with the hope of becoming a funded trader. I passed their evaluation, traded diligently, and made consistent profits, with each account generating over $2,600. In mid-August, I requested my first payout. However, instead of processing my payment, Apex kept coming up with new requirements to stall and eventually deny the payout.
First, they suddenly restricted treasury futures products (like ZN, UB, and ZB) from their trading list. Their explanation? They claimed these products were vulnerable to manipulation due to thin order books during quiet market times and accused traders of exploiting this. But let me be clear: treasury futures are some of the largest and most liquid markets in the world. The market cap for these products is massive, and the bid and offer typically have hundreds, if not thousands, of orders throughout the day. The idea that a retail trader like myself could easily flip these markets for profits is absurd. If treasury products are supposedly vulnerable to manipulation and need to be banned, then other products like CL (Crude Oil) and ZC (Corn) should also be banned, as they often have even thinner liquidity during certain times. Their reasoning was nothing more than an excuse to deny legitimate payouts and label honest traders as scammers without any valid evidence or detailed explanation. This is incredibly unprofessional and outright disrespectful.
But that wasn't the end of it. They refused to pay out my profits, demanding that I submit three-day live trading videos and hand over details about my trading strategy and personal information. I complied, hoping to resolve things amicably. After waiting for one and a half months without any proper response, Apex took the drastic step of closing all my accounts without any notice or detailed explanation. They hid behind vague contract clauses, which apparently allow them to act however they please, with zero accountability.
In my experience, Apex is a firm that takes your money gladly but refuses to honor its commitments. They make it nearly impossible to get your profits out, even after you comply with all their absurd demands. Ultimately, they closed my accounts without even having the decency to communicate properly or provide a valid reason.
I noticed that most of the 5-star reviews on TrustPilot are about their pricing, trading experience & customer support. I completely agree with those reviews—when I was a learner, their support team responded to my inquiries promptly, and it felt like they genuinely cared. However, when it came to getting my payout, it felt like I was dealing with a completely different company. They became evasive, unhelpful, and it was painful trying to get answers. I suspect they deliberately deny payouts to traders who have multiple accounts, like me. I had followed the actions of the YouTuber TradeByMatt, who was successful with multiple accounts, and decided to open 20 accounts myself. Despite my success, I could never get a single dollar out of Apex. It also seems like Apex treats their affiliates differently, which raises serious concerns about fairness.
To all the traders out there: Be very cautious about prop firms like Apex. Many of these prop firms are targeting your money, not trying to make you a better trader. There are some exceptions, but Apex is certainly not one of them. They always claimed they had the right to change the rules to deny any payments. In the real world, does a prop firm constantly change the contracts or the rules for their traders? The answer is no. If you want real growth as a trader, consider opening a real brokerage account. You will have more control, transparency, and, most importantly, you won't have to worry about some shady firm running off with your profits. Learn from my experience and don't let Apex lure you into their web of deceit.
They can close their Discord to disallow any bad comments, but they cannot close the eyes of the regulator when regulations for this industry come into place.
Note: (11 Nov) Re Apex Trader Funding's comment in my review.
1. Your support team acknowledged all the videos & info are received by email and you still chose to close all my accounts. No professionalism or diligence.
2. I have a live futures account with AMP Futures vis Sierra Chart. Even during Asian trading hours, the bid and ask offers for treasury products consistently show hundreds of orders. Who has an intention to mislead traders?
I stand by my original review. Apex is scam. I demand refund.
