Trading Rules

News trading is permitted as part of a normal strategy. Chasing news spikes or placing orders on both sides of the market around a release is not allowed.

All positions must be closed before 4:59 PM ET every trading day. Overnight and weekend holding is not permitted. Trading reopens at 6:00 PM ET.

Hedging is not permitted: no simultaneous long and short positions on the same or correlated instruments, including across accounts.

Copying trades from other traders is not permitted.

Automated trading, algorithms and HFT are not permitted. Manual trading only.

Every trade needs risk management; using the drawdown threshold as a stop loss is not allowed.

Type: EOD Trailing. The threshold is calculated once a day from the closing balance (4:59 PM ET) and enforced in real time during the next session.

On Rithmic and WealthCharts the drawdown stops trailing once it reaches the balance with the profit target (e.g. $53,000 for 50K); on Tradovate it keeps trailing.

$150K Account: $2,000

Hitting the limit closes your positions and pauses trading until the next session. The evaluation is not failed.

Maximum Contracts

$25K Account: 4 minis / 40 micros

$50K Account: 6 minis / 60 micros

$100K Account: 8 minis / 80 micros

$150K Account: 12 minis / 120 micros

Fixed for the whole evaluation, no scaling. 10 micros = 1 mini; orders above the limit are rejected without a breach.

Additional Rules

Consistency Rule: None.

Minimum Trading Days: None, you can pass in 1 day.

Time Limit: 30 calendar days from purchase, no extensions.

Fees: one-time payment, no subscription. No resets — after a failed evaluation you buy a new one.

Funded account activation fee, due within 7 days of passing: one-time, the current amount is shown next to the account in the table (Apex changes it during promotions); "No Activation Fee" accounts pay nothing.

I have been trying to get support to…

I have been trying to get support to respond to a ticket I submitted over two weeks ago. I can't get into my account because my password somehow got changed and there is no way for me to update my password. So, I am locked out of my account. And, my subscriptions are continuing to be billed for, even though I have no access.

Support has room to improve

I dont know, if its only on my side, but to reach out to the support isnt an easy game. It takes ages until they answer. I requested a ticket a week ago and since today noone is answering. It is sad, because i like Apex, however an intact support is important for a company that size. Hope they improve on that one.

Predatory AF.

I violated the rules. I accidentally traded too many contracts on day 1 of my funded account. BUT, unlike TopStep, or other competitors, Apex has predatory practices. So instead of rejecting the order, informing me of the issue at the time of the rule violation, or some other immediate measure, they wait until you request a payout. Because by then you’ve already made them plenty of money. Then they reject the payout, and reset your account value to baseline, taking ALL your profit for themselves. Predatory. Will I still use their services? Yes. Do I despise their business practices? Yes.

Trailing drawdown is their scam. Unfortunately their pricing along with activation fee isn't really good considering they have trailing drawdown from the peak of the market runup. They win, you lose.
