Trading Rules

News trading is permitted as part of a normal strategy. Chasing news spikes or placing orders on both sides of the market around a release is not allowed.

All positions must be closed before 4:59 PM ET every trading day. Overnight and weekend holding is not permitted. Trading reopens at 6:00 PM ET.

Hedging is not permitted: no simultaneous long and short positions on the same or correlated instruments, including across accounts.

Copying trades from other traders is not permitted.

Automated trading, algorithms and HFT are not permitted. Manual trading only.

Every trade needs risk management; using the drawdown threshold as a stop loss is not allowed.

Type: EOD Trailing. The threshold is calculated once a day from the closing balance (4:59 PM ET) and enforced in real time during the next session.

On Rithmic and WealthCharts the drawdown stops trailing once it reaches the balance with the profit target (e.g. $53,000 for 50K); on Tradovate it keeps trailing.

$150K Account: $2,000

Hitting the limit closes your positions and pauses trading until the next session. The evaluation is not failed.

Maximum Contracts

$25K Account: 4 minis / 40 micros

$50K Account: 6 minis / 60 micros

$100K Account: 8 minis / 80 micros

$150K Account: 12 minis / 120 micros

Fixed for the whole evaluation, no scaling. 10 micros = 1 mini; orders above the limit are rejected without a breach.

Additional Rules

Consistency Rule: None.

Minimum Trading Days: None, you can pass in 1 day.

Time Limit: 30 calendar days from purchase, no extensions.

Fees: one-time payment, no subscription. No resets — after a failed evaluation you buy a new one.

Funded account activation fee, due within 7 days of passing: one-time, the current amount is shown next to the account in the table (Apex changes it during promotions); "No Activation Fee" accounts pay nothing.

Apex is the worst platform for futures…

Apex is the worst platform for futures trading, they give you cheap evaluations only to apply so many rules on your funded accounts and deny most of your payouts. I have spent way too much with APEX and have received less payouts than I actually deserved. Topstep is much better and I plan on moving to there.

I was charged for an Eval account that…

I was charged for an Eval account that I had already passed. I wasn’t ready to pay at that time. I forgot about, then got charged. I converted the account immediately to a PA. Requested a refund for the monthly renewal and was denied. So I paid $180 or so for that PA. Wish they provided a 24-48hr window to act on it. Or a renewed reminder coming up.

No trading of US Treasuries

I wanted to set up a new account with Apex, however they do not allow trading of Treasury Futures and support told me that they would not accommodate requests to do so. Apex followed up today, asking me for a review - so here it is.
